OLYMPIC GAMES HISTORY
At the end of 1967 an Andorran committee, which had been set up to form a National Olympic Committee, approached the International Olympic Committee (IOC) with a view to obtaining recognition in time to send a team of Alpine skiers to the Grenoble 1968 Olympic Winter Games. As the draft constitution submitted did not comply with the Olympic rules on many points, the application was rejected, and it was not until 1975 that the IOC approved a revised set of rules.

Andorra first competed at Innsbruck 1976, and it has appeared at every Olympic Winter Games since.

Andorra has had 29 Winter Olympians (22 men, seven women), with its largest Winter contingent coming at its first appearance at Innsbruck 1976 when it had five athletes.

It has competed in four disciplines at the Olympic Winter Games - Alpine skiing, biathlon, cross-country skiing, and snowboarding. Its best finish has been 18th by Alpine skier Mireia Gutierrez in the Sochi 2014 women's super combined.

Andorra has competed in each edition of the Olympic Games since 1976, but athletes from the principality are yet to win an Olympic medal. One of Andorra's best results was recorded by Emili Perez in the men's road cycling race at the Seoul 1988 Olympic Games where he finished ninth, while his brother Xavier placed 59th in the same race.
