In other events - 11th in 4x400m men's relay event at 2016 OG. Gold in 4x400m relay at 2019 PanAm Games and at 2019 South American Ch. He dislocated his right ankle soon after the 2016 OG and needed two years to recover from the injury.
Qualified 4th from SF. Placed 4th at Gyulai Istvan Memorial meet on 2021 World Athletics Continental Tour. Finished 2nd at 2021 NCh, 3rd in 2018 and 6th in 2019. In other events - gold in both men's and mixed 4x400m relay at 2019 WCh. Gold in 4x400m at 2014 Junior WCh. He always sits on the second seat from the back on a bus, as he did when he broke the national 300m record in 2013.
Qualified 3rd from SF. Finished 11th at 2016 OG. Gold at 2019 WCh, silver in 2017. Won Gyulai Istvan Memorial meet on 2021 World Athletics Continental Tour. In other events - bronze in 4x400m relay at 2016 OG. He keeps his silver medal from the 2017 World Championships in London, England on his night stand in his bedroom so that he can look at it before sleeping. 'It acts as an inspiration.'
Qualified 5th from SF. Finished 22nd at 2019 WCh. Fourth at Gyulai Istvan Memorial meet on 2021 World Athletics Continental Tour. Won 2021 Diamond League meet in Doha. Won 2021 NCh. He suffered an injury during the 2019 World Championships in Doha, Qatar, causing him to miss out on a place in the 400m final. His mother Nobue Saito competed in sprints during high school in Japan.

In mid-2019, he moved to USA to train at Tumbleweed Track Club in Florida. His training group, coached by Rana REIDER (USA) includes Canadian sprinter Andre DE GRASSE and Jamaican sprinter Omar MCLEOD.
