Won USATF Grand Prix on 2021 World Athletics Continental Tour. Her enthusiasm for the hammer throw developed at Northern Arizona University. 'After my freshman year, my career took off as a hammer thrower, I found my true passion for it.'

Took up the sport in 2000. Sister Roxana PERIE represented Romania in hammer throw and won a bronze at the 2011 Youth WCh.

Her mother's hairdressing clients suggested she try athletics at Kajaks Track and Field Club, a Canada-wide athletics organisation. 'My mum is a hairstylist with an amazing clientele and my interaction with them has exposed me to new interests and avenues in life.'
First-time Olympian. Finished 14th at 2019 WCh, 26th in 2017. Gold at 2018 CWG, silver in 2014. Won 2019 Oceania Ch. Enjoys rivalry with hammer thrower Lauren BRUCE (NZL). 'Her success doesn't take away from mine and vice versa. It's not me or her, it's me and her. Make no mistake we're out there to beat each other, but it's a waste of energy getting too wrapped up in that stuff.'
Finished 12th at 2016 OG, 30th at 2008 OG. Silver at 2015 WCh, bronze in 2019 and 2013, 5th in 2015. Gold at Asian Ch in 2019 and 2013. Silver at 2018, 2014 and 2010 Asian Games. She began training in shot put, discus and javelin, before switching to hammer throw. She was scouted by coach OU Xiyuan (CHN).
Gold at 2016 and 2012 OG, 4th in 2008. Gold at 2017, 2015, 2013 and 2009 WCh, 5th in 2011. Gold at 2018, 2016, 2014, 2012 European Ch. In 2015 became the first female hammer thrower to throw more than 80m with a 81.08m at the Kamila Skolimowska Memorial Throws Festival in Cetniewo, Poland. Competes with a glove that belonged to late Polish hammer thrower Kamila SKOLIMOWSKA (POL).
First OG. Finished 26th at 2019 WCh. Placed 5th in 2021 European Throwing Cup. Bronze at 2019 U23 European Ch. Father Corrado FANTINI (ITA) represented Italy in shot put at the 1996 OG in Atlanta, USA, and her mother Paola IEMMI competed in the javelin in Italy. 'My parents were throwing athletes but they didn't direct me to the sport, otherwise I'm sure I would have refused it.'
Placed 9th at 2016 OG, 7th in 2012. Silver at 2019 WCh, 6th in 2017, 17th in 2015. Bronze at 2018, 2014 European Ch. Silver in 2019 European Throwing Cup and at Paavo Nurmi Games in 2019 World Challenge. Silver at 2011 U23 European Ch. Decided to have knee surgery after learning that the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo had been postponed. 'My knee had to be fixed as soon as possible.'
Placed 8th at 2016 OG. Gold at 2019 WCh, 9th in 2017, 18th in 2015. Won 2018 NACAC Ch, silver in 2015. Won NCh in 2021, 2019, 2018. She was the first USA athlete to win gold in hammer throw at a WCh with victory in 2019 in Doha, Qatar. The first time she tried a hammer throw, the handle hit her on the head. 'I remember dropping it and saying, 'I'm never doing this again'.'
Finished 15th at 2016 OG. Bronze at 2017 WCh, 13th in 2019, 14th in 2015. During 2021 World Athletics Continental Tour, won Golden Spike and at Paavo Nurmi Games, silver at Irena Szewinska Memorial. In 2021 she trained in Portugal with Polish multiple world champion hammer thrower Pawel FAJDEK and his coach Szymon ZIOLKOWSKI (POL). 'I got a lot of valuable advice from them.'
Finished 11th at 2016 OG. Bronze at 2015 WCh, 6th in 2019, 12th in 2017. Silver at 2018 European Ch. Silver at 2021 Gyulai Istvan Memorial, Paavo Nurmi Games and Golden Spoke World Athletics Continental Tour events. Wants throwing athletes to be as recognised in France as sprinters, jumpers and middle distance runners are. 'It's up to us throwers to let people know about this sport.'

Won USATF Golden Games on 2021 World Athletics Continental Tour. She grew up in St Louis, MO, and had son Derrick at age 15. Family will decide if she retires soon. 'He is going to college soon, and I want to be a part of that.'
