Finished 22nd at 2017 WCh. Placed 21st at 2021 European Ch. Bronze at 2015 Junior European Ch, 11th in 2014. In other events - silver in 50m backstroke at 2015 Junior Ch. He retired in February 2018 and began working at a correctional facility in Hamm, GER before returning to international competition at the 2021 European Ch in Budapest.
Making OG debut. Finished 5th at 2021 European Ch. Finished 4th at 2019 Junior European Ch, 13th in 2018. Finished 2nd at 2021 Canet-en-Roussillon - Mare Nostrum. In other events - bronze in 200m backstroke at 2019 Junior WCh. He chose to focus on the backstroke after trying it in training. 'I did a 100m backstroke in training to try, and I broke the department record.'
Making OG debut. Bronze at 2021 European Ch. Silver at 2019 NCh. Finished 10th at 2018 Junior European Ch. In 2021 season - finished 1st at Canet-en-Roussillon - Mare Nostrum and Monaco - Mare Nostrum. He underwent surgery in February 2019 after fracturing his right arm following a fall at the pool.

Finished 4th at 2016 OG. Gold at 2015 WCh, bronze in 2019, 6th in 2017. Gold at 2018 CWG, silver in 2014. In other events - silver in 200m backstroke at 2016 OG, bronze in 4x100m medley relay. Gold in 4x100m mixed medley relay at 2019 WCh. He is short-sighted but doesn't swim with the aid of contact lenses: 'Anything outside of five metres is quite blurry.'
Gold at 2016 OG. Bronze at 2017 WCh, 4th in 2019. Gold at 2021 and 2016 USA Olympic Trials. Gold at 2018 NCh, silver in 2017 and 2014. In other events - gold in 200m back and 4x100m medley relay at 2016 OG. Current WR and OR holder. Won three gold medals at 2016 OG despite struggling with migraines. He wants to pursue a career in stock trading when he retires from swimming.
Finished 8th at 2016 OG. Placed 8th at 2019 WCh, 30th in 2015. Gold at 2021 European Ch, 4th in 2018 and 6th in 2016. He was one of the flag bearers, along with rower Madalina BERES (ROU) for the opening ceremony in Tokyo.
Finished 18th at 2016 OG. Placed 10th in 2019 WCh, 13th in 2017 and 31st in 2015. Bronze at 2021, 2018 and 2016 European Ch. He began his swimming career in 2003 and his brother Yiannis CHRISTOU (GRE) also competed in swimming at an elite level.
