While representing Cornell University, in 2013 he was awarded the Dan Hodge Trophy, given to the college wrestler of the year in the United States of America by a vote of national media and retired college coaches. That year he was also named Ivy League Wrestler of the Year, and won Most Outstanding Wrestler at the NCAA championships. He was named Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association [EIWA] Wrestler of the Year for three consecutive years from 2011 to 2013, and was Ivy League Rookie of the Year in 2010.
