SOCIAL PROJECT
In 2018 she launched the social project 'Mempodera' [Empower Me]. "I am now a more mature and experienced woman and I want to help. We work with girls from six years old to do wrestling practice, English courses, and life lessons. In the beginning, some parents were hesitant, they didn't want their girls to practise wrestling. But with time all the compliments arrived. They saw that the girls changed their behaviour and became a team. Olympic wrestling changed those girls' lives just as it did with me." OTHER ROLES
In 2020 she was elected vice-president of the Brazilian Wrestling Confederation. "I confess that I was hesitant at the beginning because I am still an athlete and I didn't want to enrol in a duty I couldn't commit to. I'm near my retirement and I'm saying to myself, 'I have already given something back to my sport with all my medals and results, but am I really going away leaving a better sport for those who are coming after me? COACH
Her longtime coach Flavio Ramos is also her former husband. "He quit his job to help in my workouts. He is always with me, even when the national team gets together. He just cannot go to competitions, because of the cost. Flavio is so important for me, because with my weight of about 80kg. It is very difficult to find a girl to train with."
