OVERCOMING SETBACKS
She missed the whole of 2016, including that year's Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, after tearing the cruciate ligament in her left knee in 2015. She began considering retirement, but decided to continue her sporting career after winning bronze in the 75kg category at the 2017 World Championships in Paris, France. "In 2016 my Olympic dream was thwarted by the left knee injury, so I didn't watch any of the matches at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro on television. I wanted to retire from competition due to the injury, but at least I wanted to finish my career after competing and then being defeated. However, my first ever medal at the world championships changed my mind. I realised how fun wrestling was, and began aiming for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo." (news.nifty.com, 24 Aug 2020)
