OVERCOMING INJURIES
She has been troubled by a dislocated left shoulder during her career, as well as by an injury to her left knee. Both problems are due to her signature tackle from the left side when she is competing, and she underwent surgery in April 2018. "I desperately wanted to compete at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, so I decided to have surgery to get my shoulder fully fixed, but when the doctors opened it up, the condition was worse than expected. They were surprised that I had managed to wrestle in that state. It even makes me have second thoughts about going for a tackle like before. I have a mental block when I go to tackle. Finally, I'm overcoming my fears and have started to tackle, again. I know that my strength lies in my tackle. I will be fully prepared for the [2020] Olympic Games and will win with a tackle."
