OLYMPIC ASPIRATION
His father Toshiro Fumita was coach to Japanese freestyle wrestler Tatsuhiro Yonemitsu when he won gold at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Kenchiro was present at the ExCel Centre in London on the day Yonemitsu became Olympic champion. "Everyone was enthusiastic, and Yonemitsu was at the centre of it. The impression of wrestling was very different from the one in Japan. It became a big motivation for me to compete at the same event.
