She faced bullying and harassment at the beginning of her career when she took up wrestling as those around her told her wrestling\ is a violent sport and not suitable for women. However, she managed to prove herself and her success in the sport led to an increase in female wrestlers. "My family didn't have a problem with this sport but people around me bullied me with comments about my muscles and strength but I wanted to prove to them that I can be something and use this sport to achieve something. I am a role model for young girls, remembering this encourages me. Wrestling helped me become a better, healthier, and stronger person."
