In August 2016 she moved from Xalapa, Mexico, to Mexico City to start training at the National High Performance Centre [CNAR] under the guidance of Cuban coach Lorenzo Borrell. The facilities helped her recover from her 2015 knee injury. "When I first came here I liked it a lot. It was a total change because previously I trained in my own backyard. We have great support here from the physiotherapy and fitness staff. I have everything."
