OCCUPATION
She works as a swimming instructor at leisure centre Sportbedrijf Arnhem in Arnhem, Netherlands. (Facebook profile, 07 Feb 2021; talentempowerment.nl, 25 Jan 2020; Sport in Arnhem Facebook page, 03 Feb 2021)

NIGHTCLUB ACCIDENT
She was among several Dutch water polo athletes who were present when a nightclub balcony collapsed in Gwangju, Republic of Korea, during the 2019 World Championships. "That was a great experience [competing at the championships]. If you had told me this a year ago, I would have jumped in the air. But now I don't really know how I feel, because everything went very quickly." (gelderlander.nl, 05 Aug 2019)

QUITTING THE SPORT
In 2013 she quit water polo due to the mental toll of injures and when she returned she had to pause her water polo career due to a compulsory internship abroad. "I have had many setbacks and had to put a lot aside for my water polo career. But how great is it that I have done everything I can for my dream and that it may also come true. That makes you so much more beautiful as a person." (gelderlander.nl, 05 Aug 2019)
