STUDIES AND SPORT
After the 2019 World League Intercontinental Cup competition in Perth, WA, Australia, where South Africa finished last out of eight teams, she said she believes the team are at a disadvantage against other countries due to their amateur status. "It's always tough coming from a South African standpoint. We are not professionals, we take out of our own time, and we are not funded at all. All the other teams are professionals who are on a completely different level. We try and train in our off-season but usually it's very difficult to stay fit. I can't make a career out of the sport so I have to study, and that's always going to have to come first. If we had funding and time and, if I could play water polo and only come to two courses a day, trust me, I would." (news.uct.ac.za, 09 Apr 2019)

FURTHER STUDIES
After completing a bachelor's degree in anatomy at the University of Cape Town in 2019, she completed a certificate in sports management and business principles at the same university, and in February 2021 said that she had started a wildlife management course at University of Pretoria. She has also completed a diploma in sports nutrition. (Facebook profile, 01 Feb 2021; LinkedIn profile, 28 Jan 2021)

OTHER ACTIVITIES
She has coached water polo at high school and provincial level in South Africa, and also works as a part-time private high school tutor in maths, science and art. (LinkedIn profile, 28 Jan 2021)
