She hopes to branch out into other sporting codes once she retires from playing water polo. "Unfortunately you cannot play water polo professionally in South Africa, so I have had to always think about the future in terms of my career. When I stop playing water polo competitively, I would like to get involved in a wider range of sports such as trail running or adventure sports. I've always loved doing multiple sports throughout my life. However, over the last few years I have mostly done water sports and neglected land-based ones.
