OLYMPIC CONNECTION
She was inspired to compete at the Olympic Games by her mother Colette Crabbe, who represented Belgium in swimming at the 1976 Games in Montreal. "When I discovered it by chance at about age 12, it made me want to participate too. I was very close to participating in London in 2012 in the steeplechase but it was finally at the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro that I qualified for the triathlon. Unfortunately in Rio, my performance was far from my expectations, but the experience also reminded me how unique the Olympic Games are and made me want to come back to do even better." (rtbf.be, 17 Nov 2020)

LIVING IN THE UNITED STATES
She moved to Portland, OR, United States of America with her family when she was a baby, and returned to her native Belgium at age 23. (blog.lesoir.be, 14 Apr 2016)
