Her partner Danilo Pimentel has also represented Brazil in triathlon and won individual bronze at the 2016 Pan American Championships in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Her mother Hedla Lopes competed in swimming at the 1975 Pan American Games in Mexico City, Mexico. Her cousin Luiz Altamir Melo has represented Brazil in swimming and competed at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. He also won gold in the 4x200m men's freestyle relay at the 2018 World Short Course Championships in Hangzhou, People's Republic of China and gold in the 4x200m men's freestyle relay at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru.
