In 2017 she moved to San Diego, CA, United States of America, to train with a multinational triathlon team named the Triathlon Squad under coach Paulo Sousa. In March 2020 she returned to Japan due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She continued to be coached by Sousa remotely by receiving training manuals once a week.
