Her father Dmitri Siniakov introduced her to the sport. She was involved in skiing, rollerblading and cycling from age three before focusing on tennis. "The turning point came at about 12, when I managed an incredible year in the Czech Republic. I won all the tournaments in my category, started to watch more professional tennis and on that account I told my parents that I wanted to become a professional player."
