VERSATILITY
She won her first Women's Tennis Association [WTA] title at the 2021 Birmingham Classic in England. The tournament is played on grass. "Everyone tells me that my game is good for grass. I like when I put on the shoes, since I like football. When I put on the grass shoes I feel like I'm a football player, which gives me more energy to run and get all the balls. I'm [also] enjoying a lot being on clay. I like how slow sometimes it is. It gives me so much time, especially on the returns. I'm honestly enjoying sliding also. It's feeling great. But I tell you, coming here [to the 2021 Birmingham Classic in England], it was very, very tough adapting to grass coming from clay. It was super fast. I couldn't do anything. The first few days I really couldn't put one ball in. I talked to my coach, I was like I have no idea how I'm going to play this tournament. He was like, we take it one step at a time, one match at a time, and you will get much better. That's what we did. It worked. The plan worked." COACHING TEAM
In 2017 her husband Karim Kamoun began serving as her fitness trainer and a year later coach Issam Jellali joined the team. "I am very comfortable with my coach Issam and I'm very comfortable with Kareem, even though we've been criticised because he's my husband. Honestly, feelings aside, I don't care if he's my husband or not. If he's one day not improving me, then we're going to have a talk and we'll see what's going to happen. For now [speaking in 2020], we're doing much better. I like being around Issam because he's a funny guy. I like to laugh obviously, that's my character, and when I'm that comfortable, that's where I play well. Issam has been helping me a lot. I think it's not new. We're just continuing the work we've been doing a long time." (asapsports.com, 17 Feb 2020; gqmiddleeast.com, 05 Feb 2020; sport360.com, 30 Sep 2018)
