His father Gergely competed internationally in taekwondo for both Denmark and Hungary, and won gold at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, where taekwondo was a demonstration sport. He also claimed gold at the 1991 World Championships in Athens, Greece. His older brother Sharif competed in the sport for Hungary at the 2021 European Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria. His younger sister Kamilah has won US national age group taekwondo titles. His mother Sabrina has served as a taekwondo instructor. His uncle Jozsef Salim represented Hungary in the sport at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney.
