In February 2021 she was given refugee status in Germany after leaving the Islamic Republic of Iran in January 2021. She lives in Aschaffenburg and trains with her husband. "Taekwondo changed my life. When I got a [Olympic] medal, I was the first athlete in Iran and, after that, all the people knew me and, that was hard. Now, everything is okay.
