"I really liked soccer and played for my neighbourhood team. On the other hand, my parents were tennis fans and I also liked racket sports. My older brother started playing in a table tennis club, I went with him and I liked it. From there I started to go and continue playing and decided to choose table tennis instead of soccer. Being an individual sport, it suits my personality well continuously improving myself." (elespanol.com, 05 May 2019)

General
MOVE TO GERMANY AND BACK
He moved to Germany at age 20 in order to advance his table tennis career. He spent a number of years in Germany before returning to Madrid, Spain. "I left home at age 15, first within Spain in Cordoba and Madrid, and from age 20 in Germany. I have been away from my family, I have distanced myself from family and friends with whom you lose contact. Now, over the years, I begin to value all that more and take better care of relationships. I try to do better, to take better care of everything and to learn from mistakes. But the experience has been great and it was a very wise decision. Sometimes I had a hard time, I had difficulties and I suffered, since I felt lonely, but my life changed and I became a better player thanks to it. After many years in German lands, I returned to Madrid. I still represent a German club, but I wanted to come back to Spain and be with my partner. I have been working in a different way and with a different approach, but it has also been worth it." (huelvabuenasnoticias.com, 29 Apr 2021; elespanol.com, 05 May 2019)
