His brother Noshad has represented the Islamic Republic of Iran in table tennis and competed in singles at the Olympic Games in 2012 and 2016. The brothers were partners in men's doubles at the 2019 World Championships in Budapest, Hungary. Their father Rahmat has also represented the Iranian national team.
