General Interest

General
RETURNING HOME
He decided to return to Sweden from the United States of America during the COVID-19 pandemic. "I miss both my training friends and classmates in Los Angeles, and we have found new coaches, whom I am very tagged in to coach. Also, you should be honest and say that when the sun is shining, it is a little easier to train. But with the epidemic, there's too much going on and I can't risk that I can't train all of a sudden. I have done a lot of talk with my coaches both at home and in the US and we have come to the conclusion that the best thing for me is to stay home. US coaches have said that if I feel that it gives me better opportunities to qualify for the Olympics, then this is the right decision." (lovebylife.com, 10 Jan 2021)

OPEN WATER SWIMMING
He competed at the 2019 Marathon Swim World Series in Doha, Qatar, and believed this would help him as a long-distance swimmer. "I like the open water swimming as well. It fits me since I am a long-distance swimmer, and open water is sort of a different element where you have to take the waves, currents into account. It is different and exciting. I will try open water whenever it fits into my swimming agenda. It is not my main focus, but today some of the best pool long-distance swimmers in the world are doing the open water as well in periods, and I think it is a good way to become more all-round as a swimmer, getting out of the pool and competing in nature every now and then." (fina.org, 26 Jun 2019)

CHARITY
He and fellow swimmer Marcus Holmquist held a fundraiser which required them to swim 30km in Lake Vattern in Sweden at the beginning of August 2020 in order to raise money for the World Food Program USA. (swimswam.com, 18 Jul 2020)
