STUDYING IN USA
Born in Cairo, Egypt, in 2011 he moved to the United States of America to go to high school at Fork Union Military Academy in Virginia. After graduating high school in 2014 he joined Indiana University and graduated in 2019. "I benefited a lot from travelling at a young age to the United States. It helped me learn, rely on myself, and deal with many personalities that might be difficult for me to approach in the past. I aim to share the experience with Egyptian athletes that diligence leads to success, in one way or another. In general, a system must be put in place [in Egypt] for athletes to enable them to combine sports and education. This is why Egyptian swimmers are often put in a dilemma of choosing between education and sport." (yallakora.com, 27 Jul 2019; swimmingworldmagazine.com, 27 May 2014)
