She grew up in St Lucia with her mother and father and graduated high school at age 16. She then began attending Springfield College in Massachusetts, United States of America, when she was aged 16. "Coming to Springfield as a 16-year-old was very different for me. I would say that the people on campus, the people that I met on campus were very helpful, they always checked up on me, I really liked that. Although I was far away from home I felt like I had a family on campus. Thank god for FaceTime because I was able to talk to my parents all the time."
