She was born and raised in the United States of America by Croatian parents. She holds dual citizenship and began representing Croatia in 2019. "Croatian heritage is an important part of me. Representing Croatia on the biggest stage is a great honour, both for me and my family. My mother, from Velika Gorica, and my father, from Imotski, emigrated to the US in their thirties, and I was born there. I have always loved coming to Croatia, and it is something bigger than me, something extraordinary, an amazing opportunity. I still can't believe that I was chosen to perform at the biggest sports event and that is why I am grateful to everyone who brought me here, including those who supported me in Croatia."
