MEDLEY SWIMMING
She initially wanted to focus on distance events before her coach persuaded her to take up medley swimming. "I think when I was younger I fought doing IM [individual medley] a little bit. I wanted to be a distance swimmer, which probably isn't common, and it's the opposite now, but my coach has pushed me into IM, which I'm really grateful for, and I definitely like it now so that's the most fun event for me. I think the strategy behind it and racing [make it fun]. I think I really like training multiple things like switching it up because there is always something to work on. COLLEGE COMMITMENT
She has committed to swim and study at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA, United States of America, but deferred her enrolment by one year to 2021 in order to prepare for the US Olympic team trials with her team Sarasota Sharks. She has been swimming for the Sharks since age eight. "I think there is just less uncertainty staying in Sarasota and staying consistent with my training."
