His father was a keen surfer and introduced him to the sport. "In Mar del Plata [Argentina] I used to get into the water and surfed but not in a serious way. My father used to surf and he took us all to the beach. In California I started winning tournaments and got some sponsors. At age 12 I won my first championship and at that moment I realised how nice it was to compete and to win. Since that moment I was sponsored and began to grow as a professional.
