CLIMBING IN AUSTRALIA
She was one of four Australian athletes to receive scholarships from the International Olympic Committee [IOC] to help competitors in less well funded sports. She said the scholarship will be particularly helpful for speed climbing training. "I am looking to definitely do some travelling both for competitions and training, but maybe also improve training facilities and coaching. The scholarship will provide the opportunity for me to get experience overseas with high level and regular competition and training, which we don't get in Australia. [Speed climbing] is where the scholarship is most valuable, it can provide me with the coaching, like bringing speed coaches from other countries to Australia. We are lucky enough to have one IFSC [International Federation of Sport Climbing] speed wall in Victoria. However, it has no proper timer. SENIOR PROMOTION
Sport Climbing Australia allowed her to compete in adult events before she was officially eligible, in order to expose her to a higher level of competition. She was ineligible to hold any titles she won until reaching senior-level competitive age. (ukclimbing.com, 20 Dec 2020)
