He began climbing at age four in his hometown of Caceres, Spain. (desnivel.com, 28 Aug 2019; kissthemountain.com, 13 Feb 2020)
:
He followed his father and sister into the sport. "My first memory of climbing is reaching the top of the climbing wall, coming down fast and calling my mum tell her. At first I was afraid to climb. My sister was really good, but I'd want to come down when I was halfway up. That's the first thing I remember. Later, I started taking it more seriously and we would go to Madrid, but also to Portugal a lot, every weekend, to a climbing school called Fenda. That's where I really started to climb. Then we would go to Cadiz and to Cuenca [in Spain] on holiday. I did that many years until I started to compete. I remember going to France to train, 800 kilometres there and then back again by car with my dad." (desnivel.com, 28 Aug 2019)
:
To compete at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. Outside of sport, he wants to pursue a career as either a professional climber or a physiotherapist. (kissthemountain.com, 13 Feb 2020; desnivel.com, 28 Aug 2019)
:
He trains at the national high performance centre [CAR] in Barcelona, Spain. (La Resistencia en Movistar+ YouTube Channel, 19 Feb 2020)
