Her parents owned a climbing hall in Annecy, France, so it was only natural for her to try the sport. "When I was a child I thought that everybody did that [climbing], that it was a normal thing." She also practised athletics up until age 14 when she had to choose between both disciplines. "I think I made the right decision. I love going up and to say that I have climbed insane cliffs.
