Her parents owned a climbing hall in Annecy, France, so it was only natural for her to try the sport. "When I was a child I thought that everybody did that [climbing], that it was a normal thing." She also practised athletics up until age 14 when she had to choose between both disciplines. "I think I made the right decision. I love going up and to say that I have climbed insane cliffs. I love to compete and to reach my limits." (Credit Agricole des Savoie YouTube channel, 14 Jun 2019; ffme.fr, 2015; France 3 Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes YouTube channel, 08 Jan 2020)

General
CHANGE OF ROUTINE
In late 2018 she stepped away from rock climbing to focus on competing in sport climbing at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. However, she aims to return to rock climbing after the Games. "I didn't have any clue of how many competitions and training sessions I would experience. So I was pushed to break my habits and to put rock climbing to one side. I count on returning because I miss it [rock climbing]. Due to the busy schedule I don't have the time to do it. That's something that I missed on lead climbing. The fact of working tough routes on the cliffs, to go really far on them, will help me for competition." (lequipe.fr, 02 Dec 2019)

SPECIALITY
She considers herself to be a specialist in lead climbing, however for the Olympic Games campaign she has trained in all three disciplines. "On basis, my speciality is lead climbing. But this year [2019] I didn't have a great world cup season in that. It was maybe because I trained for the combined, that means all three disciplines [speed climbing, bouldering, lead climbing]. Certainly I will continue pushing on lead climbing. Bouldering is more a confidence thing rather than performance. I need to be more confident. The real thing might be speed. I know I can still improve. I really want to do it at full gas." (lequipe.fr, 02 Dec 2019)
