Surfing. "If surfing's still there when I complete everything I want to do in skating then I guess I'll do it, but I'm just really focused on the skating part and just surf for fun with friends and family." (espn.com.au, 09 Jun 2020)

He took up surfing at an early age before switching his focus to skateboarding. "My parents got me a skateboard when I was three and I was just able to stand on it. I started surfing before I started skating and I really wanted to be a pro skater and surfer, but I took off in my skating - I started doing really well in contests, I won a couple and I just put all my focus into skating. I've been skating pretty full on since I was about seven years old." (espn.com.au, 09 Jun 2020; theberrics.com, 27 Apr 2018; monsterchildren.com, 05 Sep 2016; goldcoastbulletin.com.au, 16 Jan 2014)

"I just have such a passion and love for skateboarding, because I love learning new things. In skating you learn something new pretty much every single day, and I guess that's why I love it." (espn.com.au, 09 Jun 2020)

Winning the 2018 Bowl-O-Rama event in Bondi Beach, NSW, Australia. "It was my very first pro win and it was definitely a goal because it was the last one. I was the second Australian to win it after it had been 10 years since an Australian last won it." (nine.com.au, 18 May 2020)

DUAL CITIZENSHIP
Born in the United States of America, he moved with his family to Gold Coast, QLD, Australia at an early age. In 2017 he decided to move to the US for access to more training facilities. "That was the main reason I moved to America, because the parks here are so much better and you can get prepared here better. We still have a house on the Gold Coast of Queensland that we rent out now [2020], but I usually go to Sydney, because that's where all the training facilities are. The reason that I wanted to represent Australia in the Olympics was I'd pretty much learned how to do everything in Australia. I learned how to skate, how to surf, I went to school in Australia - literally everything that I've grown up to do has been in Australia - especially skateboarding. It was meant to be and right to do it there, nowhere else." (dewtour.com, 10 Jun 2020; espn.com.au, 09 Jun 2020; tripleblack.com, 01 Jan 2020; theberrics.com, 27 Apr 2018)
