In 2021 she said injuries she had sustained included, "I've smashed my front tooth out. Broken my wrists. Done my ankle. Well, I've done both ankles, a few times. Done my elbow." (theaustralian.com.au, 02 Jul 2021)

She began skateboarding after her brother convinced her to buy one. "It was all supposed to be a joke. My brother and I were looking around for something to buy when he said, 'Oh, why don't you get yourself a board.' Although it wasn't much good. Wheels hardly even rolled. But still, it was enough to get me hooked." (sahof.org.au, 12 Aug 2020; foxsports.com.au, 17 May 2018)

"I've smashed my front tooth out. Broken my wrists. Done my ankle. Well, I've done both ankles, a few times. Done my elbow. You know, it's just been one body part after another. But what skateboarding has taught me, 100 percent, is that if we can fall onto concrete however many times a day, but get back up and go again - I'm pretty sure that means we can do anything." PARK TO STREET SKATEBOARDING
She was inspired to shift focus to street skateboarding by Brazilian skateboarder Leticia Bufoni and US skateboarder Leo Baker. "I used to skate a lot of transition - vert and bowls as a kid. We had to travel hours to get to skate any of that stuff. I started watching skaters like Lacey [Leo] and Leticia and that's how I got into street skating. I used to be a park skater and then I kind of grew out of that." (thrashermagazine.com, 30 May 2019)

FULL-TIME SKATEBOARDER
In 2018 she left school to take up full-time skateboarding in a bid to qualify for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. "I'm not in school any more. I'm just focusing on skating while I can because it's an opportunity so I might as well take it. If I want to go to school later in a few years I can go back." She says she wants to dedicate her participation at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo to Australian snowboarder Alex Pullin who passed away in a diving accident in July 2020. Both Wilson and Pullin shared the same hometown of Mansfield in Victoria, Australia. "He was always so positive and caring and gave so much amazing advice. I'll always be grateful for everything he did for me when I was younger. I hope he's watching and I hope I can make him proud."
