In 2018 she won a competition in Brazil, and afterwards posed for a picture alongside the winner of the male category at the same competition, Brazilian skateboarder Pedro Barros, with both athletes holding a giant cheque showing their prize money. Asp received 5000 Brazilian real, while Barros received 17,000 Brazilian real. The picture was widely shared on social networks in Brazil, highlighting the gender gap in skateboarding. "Women need more incentive, less prejudice and more acceptance in sport.
