In 2002 he founded the Indigo Skate Camp and Indigo Youth Movement, a non-governmental organisation that aims to teach life lessons and skills to underprivileged children through skateboarding. He has built skate parks in various cities across South Africa, where the initial aim of teaching skateboarding evolved into a programme to teach life skills and nurture young leaders. "Initially we came with the idea of introducing skating to first-time skaters. Then the challenge was to develop young leaders within their community to share skateboarding, and now it's opening up so many possibilities. I see children not accepting the status quo, looking for action, eyes are excited and they're full of energy. It's about embracing skateboarding in the moment, pushing each other, seeing people come out here, integrating and sharing, and taking their own path in life. By taking skateboarding to an absurd far-out destination is proof that skateboarding can thrive anywhere. It's all about connections, community, understanding and acceptance, and if we get these things right, it's a chance to grow so much more than just skateboarding."
