She hopes to inspire young girls to take up skateboarding. "Sometimes I have competitors who are younger than me. But age is not that important when it comes to skateboarding. I would be happy if I inspire young girls to start skateboarding. It's one of my goals and hopefully the Olympics will have an impact on getting more girls to skate. It would also be cool if after the Olympics many girls no longer perceive skateboarding as a boy's sport, but rather dare to try this sport out." SPORT AND STUDY
She balances skateboarding with her studies at school. "School has not been such a big problem as it is very easy for me to learn. I'm very good at school. Home schooling [during the COVID-19 restrictions in 2020] made it easier for me to reconcile school and sport. My teachers are aware of my skateboarding career and give me leave of absence if necessary. My friends then send me the assignments, and I have to catch up on them."
