Her uncle worked at a shooting range and she would go along with him. "I saw several shooters training and I liked it. I liked the gun, I don't know why. RETIREMENT PLANS
In 2020 she spoke about her plans to retire following the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. "I am thinking of quitting the sport and becoming a coach or taking a position in the federation [Cyprus Shooting Sport Federation]. I'm not 100% sure yet, of course, about if and when I will stop, but I am working on it. I have been in the field for over 20 years and I am tired. I often think what it would be like if I had a regular job. There are many trips abroad and the pressure is huge if you want to stay on top. It is not uncommon for me to bend over and cry because I feel like I can't take it anymore. At the end of the day, however, I think I am very lucky to have been able to discover my talent and live through it. Not all people have this opportunity." (city.sigmalive.com, 03 Jul 2020)
