"I got into shooting first through scouts. They had a shooting programme and I really enjoyed it. I loved beating the adults, and I just kept on going. They pushed me to be where I am today." (Shooting Australia Facebook page, 05 Jul 2021; comeandtrymay.com, 01 Jul 2021)

POSITIVE POSTPONEMENT
She had not expected to compete at the Olympic Games until the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris but admits that the postponement of the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo improved her chances of making the Australian team for Japan. "I have had the ability to improve so much in 2021. It has made me a much better athlete. Paris was my original goal when I started the qualifying matches in the lead up to Tokyo selection. I was mainly shooting to see how I would go over a really intense period of competition. I wasn't expecting to be selected." (Shooting Australia Facebook page, 05 Jul 2021; ssaa.org.au, 03 Jul 2021; South Australian Sports Institute Twitter profile, 17 Apr 2020)

GRANDMOTHER SUPPORT
In 2020 her grandmother Lyn bought her a new rifle that cost 8000 Australian dollars to improve her prospects of qualifying for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. "It is customised to me, which is important because I'm a left-handed shooter so it's really hard to find parts. I felt really bad because it's so much money and it is amazing. I wasn't expecting to purchase one for myself for years. With the postponement of the Olympics I also got so much more time to use it and train." (ssaa.org.au, 03 Jul 2021; 7NEWS Adelaide Facebook page, 12 Jul 2020)

FAVOURITE DISCIPLINE
She says that the 50m rifle 3 positions is her favourite shooting discipline having also represented Australia at international events in women's 10m air rifle. "I have practised the three positions while sitting watching YouTube. I have definitely sat and knelt watching YouTube for over an hour at a time and it hurts. But I think 3P is my favourite because a bad shot doesn't necessarily mean that your entire match is over. You can shoot a nine or an eight and it is just as likely that another competitor could have shot that shot."
