OLYMPIC VETERAN
He is hoping to make his sixth appearance at the Olympic Games in 2020 in Tokyo. He made his Olympic debut at the 2000 Games in Sydney. "I was 23 years old [in Sydney] and I experienced everything as if it were something bigger than me. The Australians were so involved in those Games, they were so enthusiastic. In terms of my performance, the fifth place in Athens [in 2004] and the sixth in Rio de Janeiro [in 2016] were among the best competitions of my life. My biggest regret is related to the London edition [in 2012]. I went wrong for not having given all I could." (prealpina.it, 25 Oct 2019)
