TRAINING AT HOME
During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 he isolated himself from the rest of his family, practising at the shooting range installed in his home. His coach Amit Sheoran detailed his isolation. "His brother Nitin takes care of all of Saurabh's requirements. Nitin sanitises himself before going close to Saurabh and has the duty of serving food to him after their mother cooks it." HOME-BUILT SHOOTING RANGE
After taking up the sport he turned his bedroom into a shooting range. He placed a target on the wall of his bedroom and walked across the hallway to the opposite room and marked a point to shoot from. He would train at night, which soon became a disturbance for his neighbours. "The neighbours would come the next morning and ask what was happening in the night but slowly everyone got used to it," says his brother Nitin Chaudhary. FARMER'S SON
He is the son of a sugar cane farmer from the village of Kalina near Meerut, India. "I like farming. We don't get much time off from training but whenever I do, I go back to my village [Kalina] and help my father."
