In 2018 he spent time with a sports psychologist after struggling to maintain focus on the sport. "A lot of things affected me. With this psychological problem I was having problems at training. I couldn't find the Jorge Orozco who could compete. My mentality was wrong. I felt defeated, tired. And I had some doubts about continuing with the sport. A lot of people helped me.
