RETIREMENT PLANS ON HOLD
He originally planned to retire from the sport after the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru, but was inspired to continue competing after winning a silver medal at the event and claiming a quote place for Guatemala at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. "I told my family and my coach that this would be my last competition [2019 Pan American Games]. I promised them that I would give it all on the range. Every athlete's dream is to compete at the Games. It came together at the right moment, at the right time, at the right competition. Now I want to enjoy competing in Tokyo."
