His father Mohd Afendy Abdullah has served as the Malaysian national sailing team coach. His sisters Khairunneeta, Khairunhanna, and Khairunnisa have all represented Malaysia in sailing. His wife Nur Amirah won a silver medal in Laser Radial at the 2013 South East Asian Games in Naypyidaw, Myanmar.
