Her parents used to take her sailing at a local club. She immediately loved windsurfing after trying it for the first time. "It's a sport that has lots of speed and action." (Facebook page, 29 Sep 2019; stiften.dk, 13 Aug 2019)

General Interest

General
FROM RIO TO TOKYO
She believes that her experience at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro will help her performance at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. "I gained a lot of experience in Rio, which I think will be useful at the Olympics in Tokyo. The Olympics are a big 'circus' in many ways, and it is absolutely fantastic to be part of. But there are also many things that are different at an Olympics than other competitions, and the fact that I have tried it before, means that I can hopefully make an even better position in Tokyo." (dif.dk, 12 May 2020)

BOOK
In July 2019 she published a book called 'Kap Verde Retur' [Return to Cape Verde] about her sailing trip to Cape Verde, England, and Morocco. She began the one-year cruise 10 days after competing at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. "The book is a form of inspiration, or guideline if you will, to other young girls in the sailing world. It is an honest and tangible picture of being on a long trip. I was in pretty bad shape when I got home, but the trip has definitely given me a boost and meant that I still have so much desire for windsurfing."
