General Interest

General
CREWMATE
He competes in the 49er class with Jakob Precht Jensen. "It is quite funny that I am twice as old as him, but that's the way it goes. It has its advantages and disadvantages. Jakob clearly has huge respect for me, and that is a challenge, because he also has to trust himself to take chances by himself along the way. He must believe in what he does." (minbaad.dk, 11 May 2020; bt.dk, 21 Mar 2018)

OLYMPIC GOLD IN BORROWED BOAT
At the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, he and his crewmate Martin Kirketerp were leaders by 11 points going into the medal race. However, the pair were forced to borrow a boat from the Croatian team after their mast broke shortly before the start of the final race. Warrer and Kirketerp went on to finish seventh, which was just enough to secure the gold medal, despite protests from the Spanish and Italian teams. (thedailysailcom, 2009; dr.dk, 17 Aug 2008)
