Her parents encouraged her to get involved in the sport. "I was practically born on my father's boat. He has an old classic wooden boat. We are from Rosario [in Argentina] and we have a river that runs through the city. So actually I first fell in love with the river. I had a lot of fun, because it was just an activity for pure fun until the age of 15. When I got older, I realised that I liked to compete. It was how I became passionate about competing. She sailed a Laser Radial boat before switching to the Nacra 17 class in 2013. She began competing with Santiago Lange in March 2014, and the pair went on to win gold together at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. "When I decided to change class, it was a great motivation for me to work in a team. We are all learning in life, and it starts from knowing how to work in a team. You are surrounding yourself with people who have the ability to understand that everyone's opinion is worthwhile, working in a horizontal way as we do and listening to others' opinions, and in the end you can make very interesting projects."
