"We used to go skiing, but the snow was far away so one day we tried windsurfing. My brother Bautista started first and I did everything he did." (Somos Deporte GBA YouTube channel, 03 Feb 2016)

FAMILY COMPETITION
He and his brother Bautista have regularly competed against each other in international competition. Francisco finished first at the Medal Race of the South American Windsurf Championships held in February 2020 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, which secured an Olympic quota spot for Argentina in windsurfing. His brother Bautista, who had won a gold medal in windsurfing at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru, didn't finish the race, but finished second in total points in the South American Windsurf Championships. The Argentina Sailing Federation announced that Francisco had been chosen to compete at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. "We had a very intense competition with my brother competing hand to hand and scratching our eyes out. We raced in 15 regattas and we finished first and second in all of them. It's hard to race against your brother. If you win you're happier at home, but it's fun. Not many people can compete against their brother and have their father coaching in the water. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed it." (TyC Sports YouTube channel, 28 Feb 2020; fay.org, 17 Feb 2020; infobae.com, 16 Feb 2020, elsol.com, 15 Feb 2020; Argentina Dorada Twitter profile, 15 Feb 2020)
