He competes in the Nacra 17 class with Gabriela Nicolino de Sa. The pair began sailing together in 2018 following encouragement from the Brazilian Sailing Confederation and the Brazilian Olympic Committee. After just 20 days training together they clinched an Olympic quota spot for Brazil by finishing in fifth place at the 2018 World Championships in Aarhus, Denmark. "Without Gabriela I'm not able to sail the boat. She has different skills. She's always aware of the team activities, she's disciplined and takes care of her physical preparation.
