Her mother Silvia Depares was a two-time world champion in the Optimist class. Her father David Mas coached Spanish sailors Jose Maria van der Ploeg and Neus Garriga at the Olympic Games, as well as the Portuguese national team. She began sailing with her partner Patricia Cantero in March 2017. She used to sail alongside Paula Barcelo in the junior ranks, but when Barcelo decided to continue studying Mas found herself without a partner. "I had seen her [Cantero] during the Olympic preparation for Rio de Janeiro. She had also decided to stop sailing in order to study, but I called her and asked her if she wanted to join me in the campaign for Tokyo."
